Peace
International peace, friendship and global understanding.
Rotary Peace Park Malaysia
At Smart ORS, Bestari Jaya, the lakes spark life and provide a serene setting for unity, goodwill, friendship and environmental education.
LUAS embraced Rotary's Peace Park idea and made available a strategic site adjacent to Sg. Selangor and UNISEL University Campus. The total area is 120.80 hectares, including 63.41 hectares comprising seven lakes.
The ex-mining lakes augment raw water supply for Klang Valley, Kuala Selangor and Hulu Selangor districts, and the site was gazetted in 2013 as an Alternative Water Resource Protection Zone under Section 48 of the LUAS Enactment 1999.
Why it matters
International peace, friendship and global understanding.
The importance of protecting water resources and creating environmental awareness.
Rural community development through eco-tourism and park recreational activities.
Tree planting, tree care and reforestation.
Literacy and environmental education for nearby communities.
Expertise, research, development, facilitation and skills development.

The Peace Pole is envisaged as the centrepiece on the Rotary Wheel landscape - a focal point for visitors, with benches and shade to create an ambience of peace and tranquillity.

The park can become a prominent ecotourism centre connected to migratory birds, Kg Kuantan fireflies, Raja Musa peat forest, Bukit Melawati and Kuala Selangor mangroves.
