Who will care for the trees after six months?
Rotary will have arrangements with LUAS, Majlis Daerah Kuala Selangor and the local community. Rotary and LUAS will continue regular activities such as tree care, plogging and reforestation with universities, communities, corporate partners and NGOs.
How long will the park be under Rotary care?
For as long as Rotary participates actively, promotes the park and is seen as a good partner. The source material sets a 10-year-and-beyond aspiration.
Can non-Rotary sponsors support the park?
Yes. Rotary Clubs are given first preference, and corporate sponsors may be invited for further development of the park.
Can sponsors choose their trees?
Tree species have been decided by the landscaper. Clubs and sponsors can choose available species on a first-come, first-served basis.
Is there a limit to benches or trees?
No. Park activities and development are ongoing, with additional facilities such as benches, gazebos, camping sites and recreational facilities envisioned over time.
How can clubs use the park?
Clubs can organise rural outreach, community economic development, tree planting, Rotary retreats, youth training, peace forums, camping, kayaking and migratory bird watching.
What is the land use status?
The ex-sand mining lakes augment raw water supply and the site is gazetted as an Alternative Water Resource Protection Zone. Educational, water sports and recreational activities are permitted.
Is the water safe?
The source material states that lake water quality is regularly tested by the Ministry of Health and meets raw water quality requirements.
